Paphiopedilum Magic Lantern is a primary hybrid slipper orchid and one I’ve tried growing unsuccessfully myself (managed to keep it alive for two years before it got a rot low low). Maybe I’ll have to give it another go when I see a reasonably-priced seedling.
In the meantime, here is a lovely little plant benched at the orchid society meeting in February (late summer where I live) grown by Joyce and Sam Atwal.
This hybrid has a lovely colour and shape. It’s a primary hybrid as it’s a cross of Paphiopedilum micranthum x Paphiopedilum delenatii.
