Cymbidium Suvaley ‘Wild Joker’ was purchased as a division from Ezi-Grow Orchids at the Southern Orchid Spectacular show of 2013.
It grows in a large Cymbidium pot with a bark-based medium on my north-facing veranda. This is the second flowering. It takes around 6 weeks from spike to flower with the flowers opening at the end of August. The flowers last several weeks.

This plant is unusual as it is a petal peloric Cymbidium. Its flowers are not like standard Cymbidium flowers. Instead, two of its petals show the same pattern as the lip. Orchid fanciers either love pelorics or hate them. Some even search high and low to collect them. I quite enjoy the flowers with their unique pattern, despite some labelling them as ugly freaks.
